About Us
Colin and Louisa trained with the late Francis Coulson
and Brian Sack at Sharrow Bay Hotel, Ullswater, before
moving to Quince & Medlar in 1989.
The restaurant is featured in the Which Good Food
Guide, Hardens, Hunter Davies Good Guide to the Lakes,
AA Food Guide, Country Living Rural Guide and Vegetarian
Britain.
Quince and Medlar has won a number of Awards including:
- National Vegetarian Society Restaurant of the
Year 1989 & 2003
- Vegetarian Living Restaurant of the Year 1992
- Twice Winner of the Loo of the Year Award
