Cumbrian at heart with a passion for fine food and the fells....
Colin and Louisa Le Voi are close to their roots. Born just down the road in Workington and Louisa in Whitehaven they have been creating interesting, individual and pleasing plant based dishes at their listed Georgian town house restaurant for quite a while now (back in ‘89 they moved in).
After their time on the shores of Ullswater gaining valuable experience under the watchful eyes of Francis Coulson and Brian Sack, they have changed with the times and make good use of all the fresh produce and ingredients the county has to offer.
Set next to the historical castle in the picturesque riverside market town of Cockermouth, Quince and Medlar is an intimate warm and relaxing ‘space’ packed with character and with original Cumbrian art work lining the walls.
An organic, vegetarian and vegan wine list compliments the tasty eye pleasing botanical dishes. Quince and Medlar has been recognised for 30 years by 'The Good Food Guide', an accolade held by very few restaurants in the UK.
